Tom Kuell: Manager – Commercial Property Division
As a graduate of UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Tom loves making things work and getting things done. After studying the best practices of the world’s top companies, he’s convinced that there’s one thread that connects them all: an obsession with customer service. He believes, like all of us at Chanticleer, that our clients are what’s most important. No one raves about their property management company, and often feel the opposite. He wants to revolutionize that. Tom is a serial entrepreneur. He’s had a myriad of experiences before starting Chanticleer’s commercial management division. He managed a restaurant, lived in China for a year, started successful businesses to employ adults with developmental disabilities in Chapel Hill and runs a law firm tech company. He believes that there is so much change we can affect in our community and the only thing he loves making more than businesses is a difference. Tom loves football, pretending to eat healthy, going to the movies, playing any kind of sport, and celebrating life’s little wins. At night, he doubles as a superhero fighting crime. He is married to his lovely wife, Lauren, and they just had their first child – a baby girl, Talley Rae, in September 2016.
Dan Hatley: Assistant Manager – Commercial Property Division
While Daniel “Dan” Hatley is one of Chanticleer’s newest brokers, he brings to the table many years of real estate and construction experience, having first cut his teeth on construction and workman’s lien litigation during the last financial downturn. Dan has the distinction of being the only lawyer/broker on Chanticleer’s team of agents, giving him a unique perspective that can be leveraged in his client’s favor – whether during cordial lease negotiations or when circumstances require a firm hand to resolve tenant default. Dan serves as Assistant Manager of Chanticleer’s Commercial Property Division, working with longtime friend Tom Kuell to provide top-quality service to commercial property owners both large and small. Aside from working with Carla Sevilla and the folks at Chanticleer, Dan is the owner and managing attorney at iTicket.law, a law firm tech company with offices throughout North Carolina. In his free time, Dan serves as the President of the Board of Directors of Extraordinary Ventures, a non-profit that creates employment and social opportunities for young adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities. A Tar Heel graduate and devoted fan, Dan lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and son. They can often be found on Franklin St.
